Banana toffee trifle
Ingrediënten
- 75 gr butter
- 175 gr soft brown sugar
- 284 ml double cream
- 1 Madeira cake (235gr)
- 2 tbsp orange juice
- 4 bananas, peeled and sliced
- 500 gr carton fresh ready-made custard
- 450 ml whipping cream
- chopped butter sweets (such as Werthers
- Originals) to decorate
Bereiden
Heat the butter and brown sugar gently in a heavy-based pan until the sugar has dissolved. Bring to the boil; boil for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat; cool for 10 mins. Stir in the double cream to make a toffee sauce. Cool; chill for 2 hours until thickened.
Slice the Madeira cake; arrange on the base of a serving dish. Sprinkle with orange juice. Arrange the bananas on the top. Pour over the toffee sauce; pour over the custard.
Whip the whipping cream until it holds soft peaks; place spoonfulls over the top of the custard. Sprinkle with sweets.
